Our Mission
Small Developers of KC is a grassroots initiative focused on building capacity for citizen-developers seeking the knowledge, support, and connections to improve their own neighborhoods.
Our region has hundreds of small vacant lots and buildings in need of someone who cares. The large-scale real estate industry is not well-suited to implement the scale of development many neighborhoods need.
We create space to elevate stories and experiences of those participating in or supporting small-scale development. A shared understanding about what makes projects work financially is critical for equitable reinvestment.
We welcome everyone. All levels of experience, all perspectives. Small-scale development requires a local ecosystem to work, and we’re here to build that ecosystem.
